Queen City 15 is Seeking New Members!
QC15 showcases artists working in diverse media throughout the Hudson River Valley. Each artist member will have approximately 7 feet of linear wall space or equivalent for 3D artists.
Considerations for applying:
All visual artistic mediums are eligible, 2-D and 3-D.
Artists are responsible for hanging their own work and changing it out each month.
Queen City 15 Gallery takes every precaution with the artwork; however it is not liable for any damage or loss, artists must provide their own insurance if desired.
We offer several different levels of membership:
Full membership - $90.00/month, Showing every month, 1 sitting per cycle, 10% commission, Feature show every other year.
Half membership - $45.00/month, Showing every other month, 1 sitting per cycle, 10% commission.
The gallery is always appreciative of members helping us with any of the ongoing responsibilities, but this is on a volunteer basis.
Space for members: approximately 7' wall space. Wall positions change every month.
Term: Members are expected to join the gallery with a commitment of one year in mind. The gallery requires two month written notice for any membership changes.
Initiation Fee: All members must pay a one time, non-refundable initiation fee of $50.
Meetings: All members are welcome to the monthly meeting to be part of ongoing plans and discussions.
Opening and Events: Everyone is expected to support the gallery and colleagues by attending opening receptions and events when feasible. This is not a requirement.
Curation: No 'salon-style’ hanging, space must be presented in a clean and ordered manner. Works must be changed every month. You may show work again in the same year, just not in consecutive months. Each artist hangs their own work and creates their own labels.
We welcome submissions from interested artists, but please be aware that membership is limited to 15 artists. If there are no open positions at the time of submission your name and materials will be added to our archives for review when an opening occurs.
We are unable to accept walk-in portfolio reviews.
Electronic submissions must include images of current, available work in addition to any applicable website links. Please include:
Your full name, email, and phone number
Four images of your work
Provide the date, medium, dimensions, and price for each work
A brief biography and artist statement
Website/Facebook addresses (if this includes the previous 3 items, then it is sufficient to send just the link to your website)
Send your materials to firstname.lastname@example.org - write Submission in the subject line.
Please do not send any original artwork for the initial submission. Your materials will not be returned.
You may be asked to an in-person interview with the committee where you will be expected to bring samples of your work.
Due to the frequency of membership committee meetings, the turn around of notification may take some time and will depend of where in the scheduling cycle the submission was received. We thank you for your patience in this process.
